Alternative Site Plans
As of March 2010, five alternative site use conceptual plans have been developed, along with two tract plans that show potential use areas and configurations of infrastructure.
-
Alternative A - This scenario would maximize the commercial use of the entire site, utilizing the available real estate to rent or sell land which could be developed in accordance with codes and ordinances.
-
Alternative B - This alternative would create a cultural reserve area on the east side of Ennis Creek, in the area assumed to have been the site of the S'Klallam village Y'ennis. This site would house a cultural research institute and the remainder of the entire east side would become dedicated open space accessible to the general public but available to celebrate the history and culture of local tribes with such things as outdoor displays (totem park, for example) or other such examples of native culture. The West side would be developed to both compliment the east side enhancements as well as maximize the benefits of near deep water real estate.
-
Alternative C - This alternative would maximize the benefits of the huge dock and low bank deep water access to provide high quality port marine terminal facilities and other commercial activities related to the maritime uses of the site.
-
Alternative D - Port marine development on the west side of Ennis Creek, and the tribal cultural reserve area on the east side of Ennis Creek.
-
Alternative E - Site restored to a natural estuary and park with no development. Most of the fill of the site will be removed.
-
Tract Exhibit - Shows potential development lots or parcels on the site.
